Hey all... I'm looking to create DVDs of our family's summer vacation to Florida. in all, we took about 900 pictures. I want to burn those pictures to DVD and have them able to autoplay when the DVD is put in a player. My mother in law isn't too tech savvy (not at all), and I want to make it as easy as possible.
I found Ulead PictureShow 4 on a Google search, but the Free Trial was limited to 10 pictures per slideshow, and the full version was $40 for a product that no future upgrades are planned for. I won't use the software often, so $40 for a 1 or 2 use is a bit high for me, but if I can't find a cheaper/free option, I will probably go that route.
I have tried Picasa, and I couldn't get it to autoplay. once in the menu, and submenu, pressing play with a picture highlighted started the slideshow, but that's more difficulty than I'm looking for.
I tried Nero VideoCD, but it only allows for 99 "tracks".
Being able to incorporate audio into the slideshow would be a nice touch, but really isn't a deal breaker.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Re: Picture DVD slideshow software?
1st thing - most dvd players will do this automatically! Just copy the pics to a cd/dvd and pop it in the drive - I would try this first just to see what happens. Even if it doesnt work, at least you will have a backup of you pics on disc ;)

http://www.dirfile.com/freeware/dvd-slideshow.htm - found this in some forum somewhere - I trust the download.com better than this.
I also read somewhere that googles picasa software does it - but I can not verify. - http://picasa.google.com/
Hope it helps.

Re: Picture DVD slideshow software?
I was looking at my pictures in vista just last night, and in the image viewer there is a link at the top that said something like "Make DVD" or "Make Movie"
I think you may be able to do just that in vista, if you are on vista of course.
