Radiator mounting question and monitoring tools

Problems already I only have 1 case tha the radiator would fit on and that is the case my quad is in - the Aerocool from here.

Can i mount the radiator on top of a case? I dont mind drilling holes and such, but I just didnt know i it would work properly or not.

I guess I would need to cut a big hole for the air to go through, then drill a couple small ones for mounting.

Oh, I also have a big ass super tower thing - the one i was going to use for the LR logo that I havent figured out how to do yet. That one doesnt have room in the back, but it should even have room to mount it on the inside panel on that one.

I just dont know how the different mountings would effect the cooling aspects.

2nd question are there any temp tools for Linux? WOuld prefer ones that install through the program manager thingy since it is a pain to install manually! Also, which tools do you prefer for getting the actual temps? I want to do the before and after comparison.

you can download a template from ac ryan for cutting in the top of your case. make sure you use the right size paper though, i made the mistake of printing out a template intended for A4 paper on letter paper and it complely messed up my mounting

you can download a template from ac ryan for cutting in the top of your case. make sure you use the right size paper though, i made the mistake of printing out a template intended for A4 paper on letter paper and it complely messed up my mounting

From what I see, they are all for A4 (European) paper..?? I am in the US and therefor have an old antiquated measuring system for my paper :p

Ubuntu is upstairs right now. Other os's would either be XP or Vista, whichever I find and have an unused key for - even though I will probably still have to call MS and get the activation since they are idiots..ARGH.

Letter paper is just a bit wider than A4 I believe.

Good question - dunno if orinting it out unscaled would work or not between the 8.5X11 and the a4 formats.
I will have to give it a try and see - maybe use a piece of scrap metal or cardboard to see if it will mount properly first.

Like Martini said - a4 is longer also. and seems to be narrower..??

Update - clicked to box in Adobe to Choose paper source by PDF size and it changed the size to 8.3X11.7 - so I guess that is what a4 is in American terms.
printed fine at that size, just cut a portion of the A off in the A.C.Ryan on the right side of the printed page.

Poked holes in the printout and the inside holes seemed to line up really good with the holes in the radiator! I dont know what the outside holes are for and I dont know if the cutout is the proper size yet, but the holes did seem to line up.

Will update once I get to try it like I said above.
