One Of My Toys

Post by InFuZiOn »

I don't think I've shown everyone at LR my new 325hp toy I've been upgrading and fixing since I got ahold of it a few months back. It was a local middle school officers vehicle so it has 145,xxx miles with a leather back seat and all. It's a 2001 Crown Victoria Police Interceptor and since I've had it I've had it this is what I've put into her:
-Replaced or repaired the HD Police steering, oil cooler, suspension(except for shocks and bushings), brakes, etc
-tinted(20% front, 5% rear)
-had the transmission professionally rebuilt with high-performance parts
-correct police steel rims and chrome caps for the year
-Original CB and communication antennas still installed in the roof and functional
-Flowmaster Super40 mufflers run through true dual H-piped outlets where the original exhaust was so its LOUD but looks original :snakeman:
-fixed the spotlight
-installed a full color Pioneer DEH-P7800MP headunit and had it wired for 2 12" Kicker L5's with a 2000W amp
-Got the correct "Police Interceptor" emblem
-New heavy output alternator
-New Duralast Gold battery
-New serpentine belt
-Fresh oil and oil filter and fluids as of a month ago
-New K&N air filter
-New Firestone Firehawk PV41 police tires rated up to 180mph
-New heavy duty sway bar
-Clear cut headlights off a 2007 patrol car
-Go-Rhino front grille guard bolted and welded to the frame

Planned for the future:
-Re-install the Police Interceptor intake(gotta find a "friend's shop" to install that part 8) )
-New shocks and bushings
-Dents in driver door and rear quarter panel repaired
-Front fiberglass piece around the grill replaced
-New 2007 "honeycomb" style grille
-New rear bumper cover
-CB radio with hidden PA speaker in the engine bay for fun
-2 12" Kicker L5's
-1 2000W 2-Channel Amplifier
-1 800W 4-Channel Amplifier for the speakers
-New paintjob in either the original white, dark metallic undercover gray, or midnight black

Anyways enough about the car. Here's a few pictures for you guys :)

Beware of Teenagers. I heard that having an old Police Cruiser is hard to deal with because it will get Egged and such.

Looks good otherwise.

you are one of the ass holes I hate when I'm driving my car... You guys always make me hit the brakes and slow down. So, does it have posi?

What happened to that 3000GT you owned... Big change there.

Never was impressed by them. 325hp is great for catching those little imports, but throw a nice hemi cuda in its way and we shall see ;)

Mike

To me, it looks too plain without the stripes and lights. :ANAL:

Yea, should put a roof rack on it, make the illusion of the lights on the roof :)

Mike

and a decal on each of the doors - maybe your family crest or something - that would REALLY get some looks then ;)

Nah not really besides! having lights is illegal and Apop what 3kGT? I HAD a 240SX but I wrecked it drifting then repaired it and decided I wanted a different toy. :snakeman:

You'd be surprised what this car has kept up with though. A police officer friend of mine showed me his personal car(the area he was an officer in allowed take-home vehicles) which was an 04 Crown Vic PI with a summit racing crate motor in it that was pushing 410hp at the wheel with no supercharger or nitrous but IF it was supercharged even in the state mine is in with 325 HP i'd still have well over 400+HP just by supercharging it which costs LESS than the fancy Hemi's. My dad's got an 2007 Grand Cherokee Limited with the Hemi. That thing is a rocket! Only thing is you spend well over 20k for that much horsepower when you can get Vic's like mine or in BETTER condition for around $3000-4000 at the most at an auction. Put another 4-5K into it under the hood just by supercharging it and stuff and you've easily got yourself a 400+HP vehicle.

Believe it or not though this car is the absolute king of the road. Nobody gets in the way and Dallas PD WAVE to me when I pass them. Where ever I drive including highways I set the speed limit :P I LOVE IT!! Its almost weird driving in a friends car or driving someone else's ride and seeing how people react and drive differently without a police car around and how cautious and safe people drive when I'm ahead of them. It almost makes me wonder if people feel safer seeing me pass through their neighborhoods! hahahaha 8)

Here's a list of all the toys I've had over the years and granted I'm only 21 as of this past October 19th so it hasnt been all that long:
1. 1987 Buick Skylark
2. 1993 Nissan 240SX Coupe
3. 1993 Ford Bronco Eddie Bauer Edition(Definitely my favorite or atleast one of them. Had the 5.7L big block with a Dana 44 front end and Dana 60 rear with 2 1800W 12" subs powered by a 2000W 2-channel)
4. 1979 Chevy Camaro RS
5. 1991 Nissan Maxima
6. 1990 Ford Mustang GT 5.0 Convertible Black on Red
7. 1972 Chevy C10 Longbed
8. 2001 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor
