Knock Knock Darkstar

Post by KnightRid »

Until I get thoroughly pissed about the lack of ANYTHING being done to make F@H better....

I can see you ;) Getting close to the ppd! Might have to take geokilla's advice for trying to squeeze a couple more points out of the i7 - might also overclock the GTX260 to see if I can gain any there too!

Just those two methods should squeeze out 2000PPD...at least. What clients are you using? Windows SMP? Even with HT off, you can run two Windows SMP clients. Though I prefer the Notfred client more as I get more points, better efficiency, etc.

Also what problems were you having with Folding@Home? Only problem I had on Windows 7 is that you can't set it as a service

*pulls it back on topic*. Sucks that I have no competition since Skier is so far ahead now...

I am using the SMP client. I turned HT off so I only have to run 1 instance of the SMP to use 100% cpu power, with HT on you have to run 2 instances.

f@h problems are that it is STILL beta, no auto-update, date limits the clients even though they dont get the new stuff out in time anyway, no communication on what will happen/when/how/why or why not/ etc. Just give us your electricity and computer power and shut up. I dont really have problems with the clients themselves, just the way the whole thing is being run. Seems like they bit off more than they can chew and instead of getting more help they just go slower.
