Hi all,
I recently got my rig up and running,
it's an Asus P5AD2-E mobo with a 550 prescott and 1gb OCZ5400EB DDR2.
My question is about the memory timings...
what are your best recorded timings on a DDR2 system?
I have managed to get mine down to 3-2-2-1 at 2.2v (the board's max)
while the SPD timings at 2.1v are 4-2-2-8. I can maintain these timings
all the way up to 325mhz (650).
The strange thing is that i can use that tras of 1 no matter what my voltage
or frequency is, why is this not documented on the modules? And why
do none of the review sites ever venture lower with tras on DDR2?

because the majority of the time with a tras below 8 the performance decreases or stays the same. Benchmark 3-2-2-1 versus 3-2-2-8 and let me know what you get ;)
Although I have not used that board here on the test bench I see no difference running a super low tras. It is cool to say you got 3-2-2-1, but in terms of performance differences it is most likely hurting you or doing nothing that can be seen in gaming benchmarks or on Everest/Sandra.
