no idea every chip is different. Your going to have to test it to find out. I can say that you should not need over 1.6v and its not exactly safe to go over 1.6v with out water or very high end air.

usually there's a setting called vcore, and you have to change the settings around a little to access it (it can be different on each board, so the setting you're describing may be it, in which case it should give you an option to unlock your vcore. Infinitevalence, have something to add?

What motherboard is this, that would help me know where in the bios you need to adjust the vcore.

hit del when it first posts, then go the the genie menu, then under CPU Voltage set it to your value there, and change the overvoltage controle to 110%

You need to make sure that you disable CPU throteling, and Cool&Quiet for this to work

with vcore at 110%, i was able to reach 2.5Ghz...

a little more voltage and 2.6 was stable
http://webpages.charter.net/wombraider/superpi3.JPG

with just a tad more i was able to hit 2.7Ghz

If you have aftermarket heatsink/fan, then 2.4 is an easy goal to achieve. Even on stock you shouldnt have a problem, unless ambient temps are an issue.

*footnote, i did clock past 2.7, but because i was running 1:1 with my memory, i hit a wall at 306HTT.

just keep your temps below 55C under full cpu load
some people will say upto 60C and some say 50C

My personal wall is at 50C, even though AMD says the chips can max out at 60-65 degrees; I like to be on the safe side :P
And I can hit 2.4Ghz with no more than 1.5v so if you need to go up to 1.6v you are doing something wrong.
