GALAXY is a company with many 'firsts' recently. They were one of the first to announce worldwide availability of GeForce GTX 470 and GeForce GTX 480. Next, they had the first reference GeForce GTX 470 with a custom-made heatsink cover. And then, they were again one of the first to support GTX 400 Series overclocking with their Xtreme Tuner HD software.
Just when you thought that they were resting on their laurels, GALAXY decided to drop a bomb on us. This bomb came in the form of a large brown FedEx package earlier today.
Prying open the FedEx package, a GALAXY GeForce GTX 470 box greeted us. Nothing quite unusual, except for that additional yellow sticker on the box though.
Upon closer inspection, it dawned upon us that this particular GTX 470 from GALAXY is the world's first non-reference NVIDIA Fermi card.
Not only is it fully custom-built, it is even factory overclocked to 625MHz for the core, 1250MHz for the shader, and 3348MHz (effective) for the memory.
