(Pfäffikon/Switzerland, August 13 2010) ARCTIC is launching a new VGA cooler and case fan today – Accelero XTREME Plus and ARCTIC F TC Fan (Temperature Control Fan). The Accelero XTREME Plus is a multi-compatible cooler for high-end VGA boards. While the Accelero XTREME series has gained notable recognition in the past, the engineering team in ARCTIC continues to improve and creates a VGA cooler that is compatible with various high-end graphic cards. The F TC fan is a case fan that signals appropriate fan speed to provide optimal air ventilation inside a PC case.

Promising Results in the Accelero XTREME Series
While high-end VGA stock coolers are usually noisy and inefficient, ARCTIC develops the Accelero XTREME Plus, a much more effective inaudible cooling solution, for users to replace those stock coolers. The maximum cooling capacity of the Accelero XTREME Plus is 250W, which is an unmatched cooling performance in this multi-compatible VGA cooler.

Since the fan models in the Accelero XTREME series have proven to be inaudible and effective, the Accelero XTREME Plus adopts a similar design – three ultra-quiet 92mm PWM fans with low noise impeller, five heat pipes and 84 fins for efficient heat dissipation. This three-fan cooler runs from 900-2000 RPM to generate enough airflow to dissipate heat quickly from the GPU.

The cooling performance and noise level in the Accelero series offers promising results. When the Accelero XTREME Plus is used with ATI Radeon HD 5870 graphic card, the noise level is 0.5 sone with temperature maintaining at 41°C at 2000 RPM. However, when the stock cooler runs at the same speed, it is 3.5 sone with temperature at 77°C. With this comparison, it is evident that Accelero XTREME Plus manages to reduce temperature effectively at minimum noise level. The patented fan holder on this cooler also plays a prominent role in reducing noise to a minimum level as it eliminates the vibrating sound of the fan with the frame. ARCTIC MX-4, the new thermal compound from ARCTIC, has been pre-applied onto the copper plate to provide superior thermal conductivity.

An Extension of Accelero XTREME Series
Another key feature in the Accelero XREME Plus is its interchangeable mounting plate for vast compatibility for new or yet to be released graphic cards. Along with the Accelero XTREME Plus, users need to purchase and install a set of accessories with their cooler, including a mounting frame, thermal glue, heatsinks for RAM coolers, and heatsinks for voltage regulators1. Rather than having several VGA coolers designated for specific graphic cards, ARCTIC develops this generic model of cooler and various accessory sets to make the cooler compatible with different VGA boards. As new VGA cards are released, ARCTIC will design and release new fittings; hence this makes the Accelero XTREME Plus very versatile for overclockers to upgrade their computers frequently. This also helps overclockers to provide quick and effective cooling solution for new graphic boards.

With the proven engineering design in Accelero XTREME Plus along with its new multi-compatibility with many VGA boards, overclocking can be maximized. The Accelero XTREME Plus can for sure enhance overclocking performance and also extend service life of VGA board as well.

The Accelero XTREME Plus comes with a 2 year limited warranty. It will be available in early September of 2010. The MSRP is US$65.95 / 54.95€, excl.VAT.

The new ARCTIC F TC Fan features a temperature sensor cable to detect internal temperature and regulate fan speed automatically. The relationship between the detected temperature and fan speed is positively correlated – the warmer the temperature, the faster the fan speed would turn. Hence, with a fan controller on board, users can simply plug-and-use without adjusting BIOS system since the fan is able to run by itself. With a 40cm long intelligent sensor probe, it is very flexible for users to attach it to anywhere that can accurately detect the internal case temperature.

The ARCTIC F TC Fan is connected with a three-pin connector and is available in three standard sizes: 80mm, 92mm and 120mm. Its mounting frame is 25mm thick with screw holes on both sides, which can be mounted in both ways for blowing or extracting air in the computer case. This offers great flexibility for users to install it as an intake or outtake fan.

As depicted in the diagram, when the ambient temperature is below 32°C, the fan speed remains relatively stable at its minimum spinning rate, 500 RPM. This speed gives adequate ventilation at lowest noise level. The steep curve signifies that when the detected temperature reaches above 32°C, the fan speed rapidly increases to 2000 RPM to provide immediate cooling. Since it is optimal to keep case temperature between 30°C to 38°C, the temperature controller signals the fan and reduces the heat drastically when it reaches above the critical range.

The Blades
The ARCTIC F TC Fan is equipped with nine blades to efficiently create higher airflow inside a computer case. This refined “ninja-knife” design improves laminar air flow while reducing noise level at the same time. The nine-blade fans have proven to operate at 20% higher efficiency than regular seven-blade ones as it can increase airflow rate and remain nearly inaudible at most times.

Since the ARCTIC F TC Fan incorporates the technology of sensor cable and a two-way mountable frame, it is a flexible and ultimate cooling solution with efficient cooling performance at a minimum noise level. The ARCTIC F TC Fan can certainly improve computer case ventilation system entirely and effectively.

The ARCTIC F TC Fan comes with a 6 year limited warranty. It is available in the market already. The MSRP for 80mm is US$6.95 /4.85€, for 92mm is US$7.45 / 5.15€, and 120mm is US$8.95 /6.20€, excl.VAT.
