Level 3 Launches an Enhanced Customer Web Portal Designed to Simplify Access to Critical Information
Interactive Portal Dashboard Simplifies Customer Service Information Access and Navigation
BROOMFIELD, Colo., January 13, 2011

Level 3 Communications, Inc. (NASDAQ: LVLT) today announced that it has launched the MyLevel3 portal, an enhanced customer Web portal designed to streamline business transactions with Level 3. With a new dashboard homepage, expanded functionality and simplified navigation, MyLevel3 offers enterprise and wholesale customers improved control and flexibility to manage their services with one comprehensive tool.

Customer Web portals offer the ability to access service details and information online, often shaping customer service perception and expectation. However, many customer portals are extremely difficult to navigate and make locating critical service data tedious. The MyLevel3 portal provides a first-rate approach to service management through an intuitive overview of a customer’s information and was developed based on in-depth customer feedback throughout the design and prototyping process. By offering efficient access to crucial information, the new portal provides customers with a comprehensive set of management capabilities that allow them to make the right decisions for their businesses quickly.

“Given the varied complexity of services offered by telecommunications providers, customers want a straightforward method of managing and monitoring the range of services they use to support their businesses,” said Lynda Stadtmueller, senior research analyst from Frost & Sullivan. “Intuitive customer portals that simplify user information and service management are key market differentiators that drive service adoption and offer providers a considerable competitive advantage.”

The MyLevel3 portal provides a complete breakdown of service detail in a simplified summary via the portal dashboard homepage, streamlining the navigation of order statuses, billing statements, reports, network tools and informational resources such as an interactive network map. The portal reduces the number of menus and clicks needed to access critical information and is equipped with a new graphical user interface that offers advanced data organization, presentation, search and analysis. The result is an intuitive, information-rich and straightforward online service experience for customers.

“The new portal represents what our customers tell us is important to them, offering simplified navigation, easy-to-find service information, and ultimately a more efficient and effective experience,” said Joe Harding, vice president of Product Development at Level 3. “We want to make it easier for our customers to do business with Level 3, and the new portal and interactive dashboard are designed, in collaboration with our customers, to do just that.”
