Battlefield 2 Benchmarking Tips and Settings

Post by Apoptosis »

For benchmarking Battlefield 2 here are some benchmarking tips that might come in handy. I am running a BFG Tech 7800GT OC and here is what I did.

1. The game sets antialiasing (AA) under video options. Use the in-game setting as opposed to the GeForce 7800 GTX control panel AA.

2. The game sets Anisotropic filtering (AF) to appropriate levels for textures when texture settings are set to high in Video Options.
Use the in-game settings as opposed to control panel AF settings.

3. Add the following line to the file <Battlefield 2 Install Folder>/mods/BF2/Init.con
game.lockFPS 0
This will remove the in-game lock of 100 fps that is set by the game. GeForce 7800 GTX and ATI X1800XT's both hit over 100 fps easily and any "average FPS" result will be invalid without removing the lock.

4. 2GB of RAM offers better performance than 1GB!

Is there any in-built .cmd file or script that you can run to do a time-demo?
Or do you need to use Fraps ???

Basically how do we bench battlefield 2????
