New York, NY (November 2, 2011) – Samsung Techwin America's new IP compact box camera combines general purpose VGA resolution with attractive features such as face detection analytics, third-generation noise reduction for superior low-light performance (0.7 lux at F1.2) and Samsung Super Dynamic Range to increase the span of gradations from light to dark areas in an image. Perfect for applications in convenience stores and retail shops, Samsung's iPOLiS SNB-1001 is a discreet 2 x 3 x4.5 inch camera that includes a video output port (DIP connector) to enable conventional analog control for easy on-site setup.

Being introduced this week at ISC Solutions, the SNB-1001 uses Samsung's WiseNet 5 DSP chipset to deliver a host of advanced features, including motion detection (with four programmable zones), privacy masking, backlight compensation and Samsung Super Noise Reduction (SSNRIII) to eliminate image noise in low light conditions. VGA resolution (640 x 480 pixels) at 30 frames per second (fps) is provided by a ¼ inch progressive scan CMOS sensor that can be multistreamed in H.264 or MJPEG compression formats. Other features include software-based day/night operation, Power over Ethernet (PoE), bi-directional audio and an SD/SDHC memory slot.

“Small installations like those typically found in retail stores require affordable network video solutions that also offer advanced imaging capabilities,” said Frank De Fina, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing, North America, Samsung Techwin America. “Samsung continues to meet the demands of users with the introduction of the iPOLiS SNB-100 – an easy-to-install compact network camera that is big on performance and value with the quality customers expect from Samsung.”
