Antec EarthWatts EA-650 Platinum 650W Power Supply Review

Antec announced the EarthWatts Platinum power supplies back in February and they have quickly become one of the most popular power supplies on the market today. With 450W, 550W and 650W models in its desktop lineup, EarthWatts Platinum ensures that environmentally-conscious corporations and energy-savvy end users alike can take advantage of the benefits of 80 PLUS PLATINUM efficiency. LR takes a look at the Antec EA-650 Platinum today to see how this PSU performs!

When it comes to performance, besides its high electrical efficiency which is expect from an 80Plus Platinum unit, the Earthwatts Platinum 650W PSU also excels in acoustics, with the unit running entirely silent across the entire nominal load range. The high efficiency also allows it to operate at fairly low temperatures as little energy is wasted as heat. Even though most hardcore enthusiasts would find this unit's electrical performance mediocre, we believe that the ripple suppression and voltage regulation of the Earthwatts Platinum 650W unit is more than acceptable for a sub-$100 product.

Seems very nice! Too bad it is not modular :(

Well that and have more SATA connectors and be 850 watts lol. Even without those things, I am going to keep this one in the loop for what to buy.

Would be nice to know if the cables are long enough to be routed out of the way in a full tower case.
Remember, I am opinionated and nothing I say or do reflects on anyone or anything else but me :finga:
