nope only big OEM's are getting dual core pentium M's

and anything under $1000 is a streach for a DYI.

if he's 65+ and has a p1 notebook right now he prolly doesn't need a Yonah notebook. Any Pentium M Dothan would work just fine. If you didn't need an OS then you can build one for under $1k easily.

Oh, sorry. He doesn't need Dual Core. Just a cheap laptop that will rule XP, Word and IE at the same time without bogging down too bad.
