ECS Unveils Two ‘Mobile On Desktop’ Motherboards at CeBIT

Hannover, Germany, 10th March 2006 - Elitegroup Computer Systems (ECS) announce two Mobile on Desktop (MoDT) solution motherboards at CeBIT.

The Intel 975X chipset-based PF23 motherboard and the Intel 945GT chipset-based ECS 945GT-M motherboard both feature socket mPGA479M which supports the Intel Core Duo CPU, Intel’s first 65nm dual-core mobile-optimised processor. This allows them to offer the lightening fast performance of a desktop with the cool, quiet operations of a notebook. A combination which provides stellar performance with reduced power consumption, improving the performance/thermal dissipation ratio which also leads to quieter fan operation and less noise.

The PF23 supports ATI CrossFire technology. The embedded Intel 975X chipset, the first Intel desktop chipset supporting 2 x 8 operations for 16 PCI Express lanes, further adds to the PF23’s ability to deliver optimal 3D graphic performance. The PF23 also features safe, yet extreme overclocking ability. The friendly and flexible overclocking functions include a proprietary Instant Overclocking Controller (I.O.C.) to automatically boost frequency and ECSonicII, an easy interface to allow the use to overclock via the operating system.

The exciting new Intel 945GT-based ECS 945GT-M motherboard supports Intel Viiv technology, a set of integrated technologies designed with the aim of enhancing the enjoyment of digital entertainment in the home. Intel Viiv simplifies your digital life, offering the versatility and power of a multimedia PC coupled with the ease of an everyday consumer electronics device with remote control allowing you to take charge of your media from the comfort of your sofa.

Along with notable media center capabilities, the 945GT-M delivers other advanced features including DDR2-667, Intel Gigabit LAN, eight-channel audio, PCI-E x16 and SATA2 for optimal performance.

Both the ECS PF23 and 954GT-M motherboards are in full compliance with European Union Reduction of Hazardous Substances standards for motherboards well in advance of the regulations’ July 1, 2006, effective date.
