V-ENABLE responds to Google patent

San Diego, California - April 17, 2006 - Google's announcement that it been awarded a patent for its voice-based search queries is good news for the mobile search industry.

V-ENABLE has reviewed the patent, which refers to particular techniques for improving the effectiveness of natural language queries in the context of search systems employing large databases. V-ENABLE finds Google's technology complementary to V-ENABLE's market position and feels it helps validate to the mobile search space as a whole. Google's endorsement indicates increased activity in the voice search industry and an advancement in technology.

Last week V-ENABLE announced the world's fastest mobile voice search at sub-second results with more than 90 percent accuracy. Its technology differs from Google's because V-ENABLE's solution is highly customized to the mobile environment. In addition, V-ENABLE's search results are based on behavioral and contextual sorting (i.e., a request for music will result in search findings associated with music, rather than news or weather), and its interface is multimodal (both text and voice). V-ENABLE integrates search requests with behavior to provide its users with the best results. It receives more than 55% of its search traffic from voice, and sees voice as an increasingly important component in mobile search interfaces.
