Can't update bios with m2n-sli deluxe motherboar [Resolved]

Post by Flammadeao »

I am having problems updating my bios in my motherboard. I have downloaded the bios from the asus website (version 603) and I have tried updating them using both the awardBIOS flash utility and the ASUS EZ Flash 2 utility. The ez flash 2 utility gives me an error saying the file size is different then my current bios and the awardBIOS flash utility says "the program file's part number does not match with your system!" I have used both the DOS and "other" version of the bios from the asus website and still no luck. I have absolutely no clue what to do :(. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

EDIT: God I feel stupid... the link someone gave me to the bios was for m2n32-sli deluxe as opposed to m2n-sli deluxe... the reason that I wanted to update was to get my ram (ocz gold 1gb) to work with my motherboard. Unfortunately it looks like theere is still no bios update to fix that :? so if anyone here has an idea to get ocz ram to work on a m2n-sli deluxe motherboard i'd love to hear about it. Thanks much

did you check the file size of what you downloaded against what the website says the file size should be?

Yes I have, it is supposed to be 775.2 kb and mine is 760 kb after downloading. I'm not sure if this is a big enough diference to cause a problem or not. This is before unziping too.... unziped it is 1 mb. I have tried downloading multiple times as well just incase I got a corrupt file or something. No luck there either.

I had a similar problem with Patriot's DDR2 667 RAM and both an MSI nForce 570 board and an ASUS M2N-e, although it eventually turned out that the ram was bad. I was able to get it working by upping the memory voltage in the BIOS and knocking it down to 400mhz. Im not saying your RAM is bad but try upping the voltage in your bios and see if that works until a BIOS fix is released. Also if any BIOS update is going to work besides theo ne for your board it owuld probably be the one for the m2n-e since they are both nForce 570 boards and the m2n32 is an nForce 590 board.
