QuadroPlex availible for sale

Post by Sovereign »

Remember that $18000 videocard? It's availible for sale now here. It appears to use external PCI-E, but what kind of latencies would that introduce? I know it doesn't matter for CAD, but if this external PCI-E thing is going to allow us to have completely external videocards (to solve the heat issue, or rather to allow for 500w videocards with built-in watercooling ) the latencies have to be addressed.

nice one, lol, i still want three please (one for physics ).

I would have though that it would have made sense to rethink architechure efficiency before addressing the heat issuse a 500W GPU creates (and external PCIe latancies). THough the way the industry is headed at the moment it doesnt look likely.
