All I can say about this is WOOT!
No more having to run 2 different instances of Folding on a Dual Core, Hyper-Threaded, etc.. machine.
Although, the only version of the 5.91Beta Client for Windows is the GPU Console. The versions for OS X and Linux CPU Folding are released.

well lets hope they can bang out the Windows version now. You would think they would allocate the resources and releases geared towards the highest percentage of clients using a certain OS. And since Windows is the most used OS for F@H, you would think they would do that. But since it was probably easier to get the OSX and Linux Clients (basically the same thing), I can see why they did this.

At first, we will only support Mac OSX/Intel and 64-bit Linux. We are working to port to 32-bit Linux and hope to have that ready to beta test soon. Due to the nature of our code, porting to Windows is considerably more challenging and we are still looking into the best way to complete this port.
How many cores do I need to run this? What types of CPUs?
In the beta test, we are strongly recommending that this code be run on 4-core boxes, although it can be run on 2-core boxes with reasonable performance. The code does best on Core 2 Duo/Woodcrest class chips and we recommend these systems (new iMacs, Mac Pro's, etc).

seems only 64bit linux will work, and the dual core cpus have some problems, so they want 4-core systems to run it for now...betas, what can ya say

I would be curious to see the difference between 2 ( or however many cpus you have in that there computer ) single instances and then the SMP version of the same 2 work units to see if it does speed it up or not.
