Best Intel motherboard???

Post by kenc51 »

Hey,
Sound off on what you think is the best C2D motherboard available.
I plan on getting the board in ~3wks or so, cpu can wait until April.
I'll be getting the board cheap from Poland ;)

Shortlist so far
Asus commando - 965
Asus P5W64-WS PRO - 975
Asus P5B-DLX - 965

I don't want a Nvidia board.....too much power drain and heat!
It will be powering something like to E6600 chip with a high multi, so the board should be fine with a max of ~400MHz FSB.

Cheers,
Ken

Ps. I'm an Asus fanboy.....but will consider other options asell.

Right, I've changed my mind. The uber high-end boards like the commando and Asus P5W64-WS PRO are out as they are too expensive and I'll prolly get (yet) another board towards the end of the year.
The shortlist is now;
P5B-E Dlx
P5W DH Dlx

I'm leaning towrads the P5B as it has the 965 chipset and can overclock quad cores better. (I might get a quad setup, if the prices drop enough)

The question remains........which one?
