I have a QX6700 processor running on a BadAxe mombo and all of a sudden the BIOS thermal margin shows 0! I have installed the latest BIOS update and the problem still exists. It even shows 0 right after start up after sitting off overnight. This is new, the thermal margin had been acting normally up till now. No new hardware in the system. Anyone have this problem or have any ideas? I am using the Zalman 9500 cooler and the CPU does not seem to actually be overly hot.
Regards,
Jerry

Re: D975XBX2 thermal margin shows zero!
gjesion, thanks to your post which I found here on Legit Reviews after googling the web, I was able to fix the exact same problem that you had. All it took was to unplug the power cable, wait a couple of seconds and plug it back in.
Initially I thought I fried some diode or something as no amount of rebooting, re-installing the BIOS, and re-installing software (Intel Desktop Utilities, Intel Desktop Control Center), System restore, would reset the BIOS Thermal Margin reading to show something other than zero. I was mucking around with CoreTemp prior to noticing the problem after launching Intel Desktop Utility. I wonder if running CoreTemp could have caused this problem.
I now wish I had googled and found your post earlier... could have saved me a lot of grief and time.
