Dead EPoX 4PLMI

Post by crudefixation »

Hi guys, let me rattle your brains slightly.

This morning, I went to install a VIA VT6421A Sata card on my 4PLMI motherboard. After shutting down my computer and installing it, my PC will no longer turn on. Power button gets pushed and the PC turns on for about 5 seconds and then turns off again, instantly as if of a loss of power. Curiously though, my bluetooth dongle still flashes to signal that power is still getting to the motherboard. I have tried 2 different power supplies, changed the CR2032 battery, taken out the new card, taken out all my PCI cards. Still no luck all. Can anyone help?

Tom.

Fried with static? Although everyone always talks about it the chances of you frying your motherboard with static are small, but it might have happened..

Did you unplug any cables when you were installing the PCI card and forget to put them back?

Do you get any BIOS beeps or codes? If your mobo doesn't have a speaker, then try to get one :P
