Users with Vista x64 and D975XBX2, please help

Post by sovereignty68 »

I just got the D975XBX2 to replace eVGA 680i SLI. But I'm having trouble with Vista x64 installation. Whenever Vista x64 installation finished loading files before going to setup screen, a BSOD appears - "BAD_POOL_CALLER..... STOP: 0X000000C2". If I disabled RAID (ICH7R) in BIOS, BSOD is gone. I tried XP Pro x64, it installed fine but when Marvell SATA is enabled in BIOS and the drivers are installed for Marvell controller, XP wouldn't boot and gives me a BSOD. Drivers in XP are latest version. I know RAMs and HDDs are good because I was using them in 680i mobo and the RAMs passed 20 hours of memtest+. I even replaced the d975xbx2 mobo once already because I thought the first one is defective. But the second one still gives same problem. Does anyone have similar problem??? Should I ditch this board and look where else?

Here's my spec:
Intel X6800
Intel D975XBX2 BIOS 2745 Dated 5/9/2007
4 x 1GB Crucial Ballistix Tracer PC8500
4 x 150GB Raptors on RAID 0 ICH7R
4 x 500GB SpinPoint on RAID 0 MARVELL
eVGA Geforce 8800 GTX

Probably should consider this a problem board. The problem is there is not so many 975X replacement boards with until bearlake. I feel stuck on this until bearlake/next ecc capable chipset from intel.

Also, please try BIOS 2692. BIOS 2745 bricked my machine, and I had to use the recover jumper. Use SPD in the BIOS and disable the marvell controller in the BIOS.

Also, try forcing the ICH7 ports to either RAID or AHCI mode (depending on what you want). Im forced to AHCI mode and have two 750GB and a WD150 raptor in there and it all works.
