Lookin' for a nice upgrade from my Radeon X1600 Pro 512MB w/o spending a ton of money. Or would it be a better idea to just make the switch to PCI Express and spend the money?
I'm a gamer, so i'm lookin' for performance FYI.

Thank you, but i'm tryin' to find good user reviews for it. I looked it up after you mentioned so. So far, not many people have reviewed it (by people i mean consumers).
I'm considering the ATI Radeon X1950 Pro, or the more expensive brother Radeon X1950 XT. Want to keep my price range around $200, $250 probably max. Thanks for the help, sorry for lingering around these forums. I'm retarded when it comes to video cards, just lookin' for help.

Fastest AGP card I know of - XFX 7950GT w/24 pixel pipelines and 8 vertex shaders (not unified architecture and does not support DX10!)
If you're looking to spend less, then you could get a 7600GT AGP which will still outperform your current solution.
Memory is not a big factor on cards like yours, they are just not powerful enough to use all that RAM to the maximum. So yes, I am saying a 256MB card will outperform a 512MB card, because the 256MB 7600GT has faster memory and a stronger core.
The 7950GT will unleash all sorts of whoop-ass on both of the aforementioned cards, but I'm seeing some negative user reviews of it (defective batch, maybe?) and the card does require a substantial amount of power. However, it is a very fast card and if you get one that works you will be most happy.

Best AGP Solution
The best AGP cards are provided by Powercolor, HIS, and Gecube. HIS and Powercolor provide a 256 or 512MB version of the X1950Pro. Gecube is the only one I know that provides a X1950XT version. Plus they are cheaper than the xFx7950GT.
No matter where you go, there you are.
