Do you have a problem with your XBX2? The Intel mobo forum seems to be flooded with threads about issues with this board.

I haven't had a single problem with mine. I Built this system 5 weeks ago fired it up changed some bios settings, installed windows xp and all my programs and its been running perfect.

I have heard alot of complaints about the XBX2 on these forums.. but that might just be because it is such a popular board.. and people would be less likely to post that they have no problems .. we all like to b*tch about stuff

P.S. I hoping that's it anyway as my new computer is going to have XBX2

I continue to have issues with the PS2 KB recognition problem and slow start ups, if I turn the power off to the system after it shuts down. If I leave power to the board, the startup is normal and the system sees the KB.

Intel used to be the bastion of reliability and stability. Now with this motherboard, the D975XBX2, this will probably be my last Intel MB ever.

Lots of quirks and the BIOS is simply bad news.

I have many many builds of both servers and gamer boxes under my belt, this board has been a pain.

I haven't had the first issue that I can be sure of running at stock speeds. I can't get my eSATA drive enclosure to work properly on the eSATA port, but that could very well be the enclosure. Fortunately the enclosure works fine USB. I have had zero USB mouse problems, but my keyboard is PS2. I'm very pleased with the board although I am a bit disappointed that overclocking it, even moderately, is best left for those with more experience than I. I bought the board for stability, and stability is what I got, so I have no major complaints. I have owned it since December. I am running Vista Business.

I've had to go back to the XBX (from XBX2) because of hardware issues. I'm also tired of trying to find memory that will keep this board reliable. I don't know who or what kind of tests they use but it sure isn't working. This will most likely be my last Intel board.

I've had a problem with their BIOS.
Seems to me the Marvell controller is an orphan within it's BIOS settings.
I think Intel knows this but doesn't want to publicize it because Marvell and Intel do alot of business together -
If you look at Intel's latest chipset (P35), they have gotten rid of the
Marvell controller, and it should be a lot better motherboard than the
D975XBX2 .

Concerning memory, a lot of the motherboard companies are having troubles
- and that includes Asus. I know this because I was going to buy an Asus
Striker Extreme, but didn't. Part of the reason was because of all the
people having memory troubles.
I think a lot of the memory issue's are from the ill attempt of Corsair and Nvdia pushing their so called 'SLI-Ready' badge, and messing with SPD without the cordination of the people who write the BIOS.
Corsair advertised it had 'SLI-Ready' and the rest of the memory companies had to jump on the bandwagon or got left behind.

I agree with Blue Magic about Marvell controller. Intel knows the problem but either can't not fix it or don't want to fix it.

I had a couple problems to start but it was from the BIOS version. After the next gen updates I was up and running. I do believe what was posted earlier is correct. You come here to get problems solved. I just was checking back to see it there were other problems that I needed to know about. This board is great for help though.

I've been running my XBX2 for 4 trouble free months. Quite happy with it at this time. Components listed in my signature below.

this board has been great for me ! ,ive never had a crash yet ! running a qx6700 at 3.8 24/7 on air , no problems running ocz reaper pc2 8500 ram

i highly recommend this board , specially if u want to run crossfire

3.8Ghz on a qx6700? Are you sure about that? I've got the same, and can't get above 3.2Ghz. At 3.47Ghz I get Blue Screens in Windows Vista 32.

What memory/voltage settings are you using?

Hey mat yes i'm sure i'm running 346 x 11 cpu at 1.4 v i'm using a Scythe Infinity 5 Heatpipe CPU Cooler with dual 120 mm fans , ocz reaper pc2 8500 running at 2.32 volts i've had it up to 4.2 !! stable put the the temps were a little high at load , my cpu score in 3d06 is 5575

hey Mat i'm running xp home, try using bios 2674 try better cooling ! my temps are 44c ish idle 55-58 load at 3.8 what are your temps ? what is your system specs ?have u increased your fsb voltage ?

I've been running for 6 months and haven't seen a single BSOD, Wista 32bit with 4GB/mem.
