Catalyst A.I. problems on HD3870x2

Post by samsonite789 »

I'm running a 3870x2 on Vista 64-bit and I'm having trouble with the Catalyst A.I. option. For just about every game I have except Bioshock, when I have Catalyst A.I. turned on in CCC, the game runs fine except for blatant graphical glitches (significant tearing coming from models and objects). Obviously this is annoying, so I turn it off for these games, but this disables one of the GPUs on the card, thus giving me 50% of what I paid for. Performance is fine, but I can't turn the graphics up all the way like I paid $400 dollars to be able to. How can I achieve the performance that Catalyst A.I. gives me without encountering these annoying graphics glitches? My drivers are updated to 8.7 btw. Any help would be much appreciated.

Have you tried enabling V-Sync?

This might not work as it is a crossfire setup, but normally tearing is solved by locking the framerate to the refresh rate of the monitor.

Sorry, maybe tearing is not the right term. It's not VSync. What I see are lots of jagged, opaque lines streaking from various objects on the screen. Maybe artifacts is what I'm looking for?

Yes, it's always on in any game I play through the application settings. I hate having it off.
