Thanks guys, I'm trying to take Friday off to get it done. Last night I started cleaning out the rad.

I do have one question. Concerning the two water blocks what do you guys usually do for initial flushing? I was thinking of just hooking up to the pump and use some sort of container as a source and then pump through the blocks to give them a good flushing.

just let some white viager sit in it for a little while BUT DONT LET IT DRY if it drys on any part of the block thas copper it will oxidize and that will be bad

So use vinegar with the block assembled? Won't the vinegar tear up seals? Just curious

dont let it sit to long, just for 15 or 20 minutes tops. then rinse it out real quick with hot water

Okay, sounds good. Thanks again!

Sucks having all of that stuff sitting at home right now and not being able to do anything...

White vinegar won't hurt anything, I flush out my complete system with a 50/50 mix of white vinegar and distilled water several times a year.

Okay, that's what I used to clean out the rad. A mix of distilled white vinegar and distilled water... then flushed with cold tap water and two flushes with distilled water.

Sound good then, I'll clean out the blocks tonight.

I would have heated things up a bit to get a better cleaning (solder flux and the like from the radiator), but what you did should work OK.

When I flush my installed system I drain it and then flush with straight distilled water (running under load for a hour), then I drain it again and put in a mix of white vinegar and distilled water and run it again for a hour or so. That way everything comes out nice and shinny....................

After everything is clean, drain and flush twice and refill with my favorite mix.
