HOT Flashing BIOS

ok, so i have a working 750i board which i am using to flash my 680i's BIOS chip(and yes, i used an appropriate Integrated Chip removal tool) but when i tried hot flashing the 680i chip, i get this error

or if you cant read because my college camera is crappy: "This Program file's part number does not match with your system!" and both chips are Award Flash compatible, "PheonixBiostm D686 BIOS"

how do i get the 750i board to flash the 680i chip if the "file number does not match"?

Hot flashing requires you to swap BIOS chips while the system is running, so I'm guessing you fired up the good board and pulled the BIOS chip with the system running and replaced it with the corrupted chip. You then need to update the bad chip with an uncorrupted BIOS image and I always use flags to force the install...

I haven't forced an NVIDIA BIOS in years, but I think it would be something like this...

/py/sn/cd/cc/f/e/r

but hey what do I know

oh and for the camera --- image stabilization The Canon SD770IS or Canon SD1100IS can be had for $150-$175 and are nice point and shoot models. Tell your g/f to start saving for xmas ;)

yeah you need a force flag and itll ignore all that.

i used flags: /py /sn /cd /cp /cks /R

should i try adding the three mentioned above that i didnt use?

now i feel real smart oh well, i just went by the flags that the ABIT website told me to use(which didnt include /f obviously)

well i used the /f flag in addition, and the flash seemed to flash it, but it doesnt work

i still get error code 9.0.

There any documentation to the error codes?

Did the MD5 hash of the new download BIOS match with the site?
