BumpTop

Post by Alathald »

Came across this really cool graphical desktop manager earlier today called BumpTop. It really lets you interact with all the crap on your desk and toss it around like you would IRL.
BumpTop is a fresh and engaging new way to interact with your computer desktop. You can pile and toss documents like on a real desk. Break free from the rigid and mechanical style of standard point-and-click desktops. Interact by pushing, pulling and piling documents with elegant, self revealing gestures. BumpTop's stunning interface makes clever use of 3D presentation and smooth physics-based animations for an engaging, vivid user experience.

I can't wait for it to be released!

So the icon manipulation isn't something that looks good, as all the icons have lost their filename so you don't know what they are at a glance.

But the photo manipulation does look interesting, and something i wouldn't mind trying out.

Yeah I hope that it has an option to leave the file name at the bottom, maybe like a Polaroid or something...it is still in beta though.

As for the ram, I'm going to bet they use GPU acceleration like Compiz Fusion does in Linux (which it is supposedly going to support btw).
