No worries bro... that's why we are here. Glad you got them both rocking for the Team. Do you use FAHMon or FAHSpy; what kinda ppd is it showing with both?

Just downloaded FahMon 2.3.4 it shows just over 14450 PPD. Of course that all depends on if my SMP client ever get sent. I am hoping for somewhere in the 14Ks.

very nice numbers. Keep an eye on the clients... I'm not sure if it's just my machine acting strange or what, but sometimes 1 client will be running MUCH slower than the other. It's within reason that they wouldn't run exactly the same, but I mean like 25% difference. usually I'll just stop the clients and restart them and it works it out. Other times I have to completely reboot the system.

I have already noticed that. Now FalMon shows 12866.00 At least my SMP was sent. I am going to reboot tomorrow when I get those way overpriced cables. #-o I will also be watching my temps just to make sure.

you'll probably notice a big change from reading to reading depending on how much you use the computer. My wife's machine drops as much as 10-15% when she's playing games.

Haha...

Is that 14k with your smp and 2 cards, or is that just the 2 card? Just curious what the 280's are throwin for points

That is with a SMP client and two GPU2 clients. What the points at the end of the day should be more exact. One GPU2 client is running very slow compared to the other one. Almost in half. I restarted the client and it helped for about 1 min.

I would just keep an eye on my points for the next couple of days to get a good average. victor/natasha

Update: I should have 13,440 points folding for 11/17/08. Today is the first full day of folding with 2 cards and 1 SMP.

Last night right after I made my last post Natasha went to try to use Skype and the computer went down. Multi color on the monitor. Rebooted rig and tried to start to fold and the rig would freeze up. Now the rig can't see the second card in device manager. Is it a hardware problem or a software problem? I want to reinstal windows and Natasha wants me to return the 280 graphic card. Are the graphic cards over heating or is it something else?

I am returning the old XFXgtx280 card. The new XFX280 is working fine for now. I hope that the replacement policy is fast so I can start to fold with two cards again. What a bummer.

Bump.

I have my new XFXGTX280XXX card in and I set remote desktop setting. Both cards are folding but going very slow. I have all the settings right with one core for each client. The fans do not sound like they are going very fast. I don't know how to adjust fan speed. I am worried that the cards will over heat. Should I be concerned? Am I missing something or is this the way it goes with two GTX280's folding?

you would have to use Riva Tuner to control the fan profiles separately. Precision would work if you were using only 1 card, but to my knowledge, the only way to overclock or control fans independently is with Riva Tuner.

What kind of work units do you have, and how "slow" is it?

Natasha got it fixed. :) We had a typo in shortcut. I tried to play with riva tuner before but it was over my head trying to understand all the settings. I will have to study more on it. Just waiting for SMP client to send results. Have been having hard time with sending results and I don't know why.
