Badaboom 1.2 Enables Worldwide Access to High Performance Media Converter by Eliminating Language Barrier

Elemental’s solution enhances consumer usability in non-English markets around the world through new localized interface in eight languages
Portland, Oregon, June 15, 2009 — Elemental Technologies Inc., the leading provider of massively parallel processing solutions, announced today that Badaboom® 1.2, a consumer media converter, will reach across language barriers by now supporting eight languages. Badaboom 1.2, a dynamic new platform for getting video onto portable media players with GPU-accelerated media conversion, is now available to non-English language markets for the first time. Consumers all over the world can now take their favorite personal videos and quickly share them with friends.

Badaboom is a blazingly fast media converter that formats video files for a variety of devices, including iPod and PSP, in a process called transcoding. While Badaboom has had a strong international following since its initial launch in October 2008, version 1.2 has expanded the product’s capability and market footprint. Badaboom now has a user interface customized to eight languages, including English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Simplified Chinese, Japanese and Korean.

The application, which runs on any CUDA-enabled NVIDIA graphic processing unit (GPU), makes transcoding high-quality video fast and easy. NVIDIA CUDA technology, NVIDIA’s GPU computing architecture for massively parallel processing, dramatically reduces the time it takes to transfer video files to portable devices, while freeing up the CPU to perform other tasks. Badaboom converts feature-length movies in a matter of minutes while maintaining high video quality, a task that used to take hours to accomplish. For systems with multiple NVIDIA GPUs, users can launch more than one Badaboom and transcode multiple videos simultaneously.

Non-English markets now have access to Badaboom’s media conversion features, including:

· Ease of use with flexibility: Support for a variety of file formats and containers, such as MPEG-2 and AVI, and output profiles, such as YouTube and Blackberry Bold.
· High quality of output video: Support for the largest standard HD video resolution (1920x1080), which provides great video quality when combined with Main profile.

Badaboom is available as a free trial and for purchase at various online outlets for $29.99 or as a free update to existing Badaboom customers. It is compatible with all CUDA-enabled NVIDIA GPUs.
