We tested the sound of the Hyundai giant vuvuzela this afternoon, get ready for the Gees!
Just when you thought you have heard them all along came Hyundai to build a Gigantic Vuvuzela which is now the world’s largest and one thing is for sure its loud .Installed on the Cape Town unfinished highway, has been created as part of Hyundai’s “Gees” campaign. This campaign is aimed at encouraging people to come together and “bring the Gees” in commemoration of the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
The XXXL Vuvuzela is made from steel and fibreglass structure is a whopping 35 meters in length and 5.5 meters in diameter. Current record is documented at 32 meters. The project started with the installation of a countdown clock that is currently displaying the number of days until kick-off.
Before the ball starts rolling on friday when Bafana Bafana take on Mexico the clock will change to give up to the minute update of the number of goals scored during the tournament – and will let off a thundering loud blow just before the match.
...I think it's pretty general knowledge now that people hate the Vuvuzela with a passion. Building a giant one with the name of your company on it is the best way to alienate potential buyers IMO.
...Unless it's the tactic of another car company to inspire hatred for the Hyundai brand.
It does seem rather ridiculous to build a giant bird tweeter. Of course, if that's in South Africa, Hyundai is brilliant for it. I wonder if they're going to make the horns of their cars sound like one... I'm sure that would drive everyone insane.
