I see says the blind man with the walking stick walking off a cliff, lol
yeah, I understand now what you were getting at with that.....voltage routes and PCB components besides the memory chips have a lot to do with how well the module OC's....I noticed the BrainPower PCB in that graphic had virtually no central circuits, yet it clocked better...route reduction perhaps, thus allowing voltage to flow much easier and quicker?
Anyways, my second question is this: OCZ Plat Rev.2 (?) PC-4800 DDR, do they have BP's? If not, who does and with the best clockable chips?
Damn I'm a question machine tonight, lol

Plat rev.2 are ddr400 sticks, they use BP PCB's and TCCD/TCC5 IC'skillswitch83 wrote: Anyways, my second question is this: OCZ Plat Rev.2 (?) PC-4800 DDR, do they have BP's? If not, who does and with the best clockable chips?

OCZ also have PC-4800 DDR ram which also has BP PCB and TCC5 chips...
They differrent products....Plat rev.2 was super ram, back in the day when Samsung was making great TCCD....It could clock upto 600MHz.....Now it may clock that high but there is less chance - todays sticks normally do ~290MHz max...
the PC-4800 DDR ram from OCZ will do CL 2.5-4-4-10 @ 600MHz....and nearly all does 2-2-2-5 @ 400MHz (a very small amount can't do 2-2-2, i mean a very small amount!) = these sticks are TCC5 now...they can take ~3v instead of TCCD which maxed out @ 2.8 - 2.9v (mine can do 275 2.5-3-3-5 with 2.7v)
The PC-4800 sticks give you more options, but costs more, Plat rev.2 is great ram too and prob better value...
If your getting a 3800+ then it will OC somewhere between 2.5 and 2.8 --> so with a 10x multi you'll need 250 - 280MHz from your ram if you want your ram to run the same as your HTT......Remember running a memory divider doesn't reduce performance much with AMD.. So you don't need ram to clock high!
Sorry to go on (again)

2.8 with a 3800+ is super fast!killswitch83 wrote:I see....still 2.8 on a 3800+ is pretty impressive......are you talkin about that on water, or can it do this on high-end air?
It's all about luck!
I think Infinite got 2.6 from his, I can get just over 2.6 from mine(4400), I've seen some get 2.8... Watercooling might allow you to get another ~100MHz, as you can increase the voltage a bit more...but the good thing about H2O is...Silence.......

Hi-end air will allow you just about the same performance, you won't notice the difference! Except hi-end cooling means a hi-speed fan....
With watercooling your temps are lower, so it may help the cpu to last longer too.
(@ the moment my cpu is idling @ 26C, and all i can hear is the PSU

whew, damn that was a lot to digest, rofl; this article can practically turn a n00b into an intermediate overclocker, with a little practice that is. The article's clear as crystal to me, of course I've always been a reader too, lol. Great find, that's all I can say now because my brain blew a couple IC's, rofl
