Nero 7 supports and enhances Windows Vista desktop experience with quantum leap in multimedia technology
KARLSBAD, Germany --(Business Wire)-- Jan. 29, 2007 Nero, leaders in digital media technology, announces major updates to its premier Nero 7 digital media software suite, which is Windows Vista Ready. These include the addition of the Nero DiscCopy application, for the one-step copying of discs of any format, and the Nero MultiMounter application, for simultaneous viewing of the status of every session of multisession discs, as well as several significant performance and user interface improvements to its Nero Home application.
Nero 7, the industry's leading all-in-one solution for the management of data, audio, video, photo, phone and TV content, reflects the company's "Liquid Media" vision of enabling consumers to quickly access their content anytime, anywhere in the home or on-the-go.

Among the many Windows Vista-compatible applications and features now included in Nero 7 are attractive Windows Vista-styled icons. Backup Explorer search folders and favorite links allow for easy Internet navigation, search and content saving. The suite's optimized StartSmart application, a user-friendly command center, now features 'Glass' support.

"We are very excited to work with Microsoft to deliver the next generation of home and mobile digital media entertainment innovation and functionality," said Udo Eberlein, COO, Nero AG. "Supporting this important new operating system strengthens our position in the digital media software marketplace and helps guarantee a positive computing experience for consumers."

"We are excited about Nero's continued support for Microsoft technologies," said Liron Shaked, director of the Worldwide Consumer ISV Group at Microsoft Corp. "With the advanced capabilities of Windows Vista, combined with an industry leading solution such as Nero 7, we are continuing to help provide consumers with improved access to multiple forms of media across the globe."

Among the major feature updates to Nero Home are a Global 10-Foot Settings Module (for adjusting video color profiles, Nero Surround, etc.), and support for Internet services (including Web TV, Web Radio), audio and video image casts and DVB-Radio. Playback and recording support that implements Nero Surround technologies, transcoding and direct data burning of WMA, MP3 and NDA files and video Windows Media Format DRM support is also included.

In addition to easily managing their digital files from the comfort of their living rooms, Nero 7 enables users to create compelling audio and video entertainment experiences that can be transferred to mobile phones, iPod(R) and PlayStation(R) Portable devices, and stream live TV and other content to a Windows Media Center Edition PC or Xbox 360.

Other features of Nero 7 include the ability to record TV programs, record video directly onto a hard drive, playback commercial DVDs on a PC or TV, record audio with unlimited MP3 and mp3PRO encoding support, mix and edit music from multiple audio tracks, and use sophisticated editing and mixing functionalities for HQ mastering.

Ensuring audiophile quality, Nero 7 enables the recording and playback of surround sound audio files. Users can also capture video files from many sources, including certified TV cards, graphics cards, camcorders, VCRs, and webcams (composite/S-video).

Current Nero 7 users can update to the latest version free-of-charge online at http://www.nero.com.
Just a little puppy trying to make it in a big digital world.
