I known it sounds like a strange question, but I really would like to run Win2K on my new system if it's doable. I may even add a Win 98 SE partition, for compatibility with some older problems. I'd like to just use XP when needed. My current system does just that: separate partitions for 98 SE, 2000 Pro SP 4, and XP Pro SP 2.
Will the motherboards I'm looking at be capable of running Windows 2000?
What about my devices (SATA HDs and IDE CD & DVD; Network, USB and 1394 interfaces...) will they be work?
I know my NVidia 8600 GTS is a potential issue, I dont know if the driver will be backwards compatible. In this case, I could use an old PCI card for Win 2000, and switch to XP when I'm going to be rendering animation and need the PCI-e video card's extra horsepower.
An unusual question, I know. Thank You

VMware?
I don't know if the real hardware will work or not, but have you considered vmware? Vmware server is now available for free. There's also Virtualpc, but I have no experience with it. I believe there's a free version of it as well.
