Crysis Patch 1.1
You all know its released. I've been waiting for it because I hoped to get some gains on it.
Pre patch and post patch settings.
Settings all medium
aside from game effects post processing, and water which are set to high
Shadows are set to low.
the rest is on medium
resolution
1440x900 this is equal to 1280x1024 for who isn't familiar with the pixel count.
Pre patch
min FPS- 15.38, 14.45, 14.98
Average FPS - 28.8, 27.76, 27.49
Max FPS - 38.68, 38.68, 38.68 (oddly consistent)
Post patch. I did all 3 runs using only the first run on the bench only because on mine I got guys who come into play after that.
min FPS - 14.58, 15.25, 14.75
Average FPS - 25.6, 25.4, 25.95
Max FPS - 42.01, 42.05, 44.59
OK because the benchmark starts of slightly different there is a chance that its slightly off and would wreck the results.. SOO I thought ahead enough to do this.
load point in the first level after the guy is found in the tree. I ran to the water area after I killed the guys there where the GPS locater is. I then made a save called crysis 1 using fraps I looked at the fps from the EXACT place I was standing and viewing after the save. I had 34fps.
post patch, SAME EXACT spot same EXACT settings same exact viewpoint. 32fps...
Am I the only one who noticed a loss of performance.
I did this with motion blur on low, none and medium sitting still made no fps difference. No matter what I'm still slower than before.. so much for those double digits crytek was claiming.
I know its obviously not professional and I I didn't take screenshots. I'm sure someone will tho. If not I will update with proof of screens. I just figured you all know I have no reason to lie to any of you

Re: Crysis Patch 1.1
I would like to hear more testimonials. Maybe crytek dug them self a deeper hole.

Re: Crysis Patch 1.1
Can you please post your full system specifications?
This is very interesting... if you are running an NVIDIA graphics card there is a new driver that is optimized for the patch that is going to drop on Thursday (tomorrow).

Re: Crysis Patch 1.1
I'll just do a screenie for that. But, I'm using 169.28 the newest off of guru3d.com. I always update them as soon as they are out.
I reran the tests as before. 3 full runs on the first version and just the first on the 1.1 patch because after the first run it does get different. Also included a screenie of my video card 8600gt its at 571/740 in both tests.
my cpu-z shows my processor speed. and amount of ram. And ram speed/timings. Anything else you need let me know. drivers are also in the gpuz window

Re: Crysis Patch 1.1
also I'll be glad to post a better screenie if I can somehow. but, I remember last time I did a full screen size it cuts off the right side of it on the board.
Unfortunately I didn't take a screenshot of the FPS on the water on my save point before but, I can just do my 32fps after.
As I said before you all know I'm a common poster on here that doesn't have a reason to bend the truth in the slightest. I've yet to hear others with this complaint. I figured by now there would have been a few posts started already and I'd just be adding to them.

Re: Crysis Patch 1.1
nope I value your info and to be honest I have already pinged someone deep inside NVIDIA to see what they say about the situation now that I know what card you have.

Re: Crysis Patch 1.1
sigh... 4 hours into the patch download, another 50% to go, and I will need to get the new nvidia drivers too.
edit: I finally found a site that I can access at work that allows me to download the file...at 81% within about 5 minutes.

Re: Crysis Patch 1.1
Are you guys sure this is just a general optimization, or just an optimization for SLI. I thought I saw on the nvidia website that the new drivers will only optimize SLI for the crysis patch.

Re: Crysis Patch 1.1
from what I've heard. Crysis patch 1.1 is supposed to be for all pcs to increase performance. And the drivers 169.28 are in beta but, they are the ones optimized for the patch. I tried both of them and no difference in crysis. But, it got rid of my slow boot up on UT3.
