OC'ing Q6600 on D975XBX2: Newbie Help Needed

Post by KlausK »

My system: Q6600 (G0) cooled by Zalman 9500, XBX2, 2GB Ballistix DDR2 800, XP SP2.

Since it's been absolutely stable (idle temp = 30C, 100% load temp = 55C), I want to try to OC.

I'm new to OC'ing and have researched a lot. I know that I have to disable Watchdog, etc to OC. I just want to get 3.0GHz (FBS = 333).

If you've succesfully overclocked the Q6600 on the Bad Axe 2, could you kindly let me know your BIOS settings? Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Here is a good starter guide to overclocking the BX2 http://forums.legitreviews.com/about10826.html

Getting 3.0GHZ should be a breeze! Just remember to take it slowly. :)

Also, just keep in mind there is a no guarantee that your CPU will clock to 3GHz.
