Need MBoard

Post by Nammy »

Someone gave me a working Pentium D Processor, so I'm trying to put together a pc for my nephew. I have most of the components required except a Motherboard for this processor.
I'm looking for a cheap (but reliable) MB for it. Maybe something with on-board video. Any recommendation?

BTW, I know nothing about the chip (speed, FSB) except that it is a working Pentium D.

One question Are you planning on using DDR2 or DDR ram??

If planning on using DDR2 this is a pretty cheap one

If planning on using DDR this is another cheapy.

That cheapy DDR with onboard video took me a while to find looks like the only 1 their and for $27 cant complain!!
Main Rig: C2D 6850 @ 3.0Ghz, 2Gb DDR2667Mhz @ 833Mhz 5-5-5-15 Timings , XFX xXx 8600GTS @ 730/2260 , Gigabyte Ga-945GCM-S2L
JukeBox: Currently in an Upgrade but im too lazy to do it at the moment

Thanks for the help, I think I'll go with DDR ram. I do like the MSI MB, however, my only concern is, I don't know the FSB of the Processor.

Unless it is the PD805 (which runs at 533FSB) all PD's run at 800Mhz.

Thank you much :)

BTW will a 800FSB chip work in a MB with FSB: 1333/1066MHz? or must it start at 800FSB?

Yeah they are backwards compatible with slower FSB processors.
